How I Cut My Recovery Time in Half — and Hit PRs at 38
Marcus R.
Pro CrossFit Athlete
I've been competing in CrossFit for 12 years. By my mid-30s, my recovery wasn't keeping pace with my training. Two chronic tendon issues — one in my right Achilles, one in my left shoulder — were starting to define my career more than my PRs were.
The Breaking Point
After a particularly bad tendon flare in early 2023, my sports physician introduced me to a BPC-157 and TB-500 stack. I was skeptical — I'd heard about peptides in the community but had always stayed away from anything I didn't fully understand. After three hours of research and a 30-minute call with an NXT Era physician, I decided to commit to a 12-week trial.
Weeks 1–4: Subtle but Real
The first month felt almost too subtle. Slightly less morning stiffness. A bit more range of motion in my shoulder during warm-up. I wasn't sure if it was the protocol or just placebo. I kept training normally and logged everything.
Weeks 5–8: The Inflection Point
By week six I was squatting pain-free for the first time in eight months. My Achilles — which had been a nagging issue every time I ran — stopped talking to me. I added Ipamorelin to the stack at this point, and within two weeks my sleep quality noticeably improved. I was recovering overnight in a way I hadn't experienced since my mid-20s.
Results
- 8 months of tendon pain resolved in 6 weeks
- Sleep quality improved significantly
- PR squat at age 38 — heavier than at 28
- Zero missed training days in Q4 2023
The Protocol (Under Physician Guidance)
My physician designed the stack specifically for my goals and medical history. BPC-157 and TB-500 addressed the tissue-level repair. Ipamorelin handled sleep, recovery signaling, and lean body composition. Every four weeks we reviewed my response and adjusted.
This isn't a one-size-fits-all situation. What worked for me was built around my specific biomarkers and goals. That's exactly why I'd tell anyone interested to start with a proper consultation.
